Peacekeepers of the Vast/Trazinus

Trazinus is the capitol world of the Interstellar League. An exoplanet in the habitable zone around its star, located about 15,000 lightyears from Sol, it's slightly larger than Earth and has a similar climate and composition.

Each voting and associate member of the ISL has a city-state on the planet, in which a population of their citizens lives and works, supporting the diplomatic missions there as well as creating a shared interest in mutual aid and protection. The member controls all activity within the city boundaries, including law enforcement; large swaths of the planet outside cities are nominally controlled and policed by the ISL's Traznius Public Safety Service. In reality, TPSS is chronically underfunded and discouraged from heavy presence, to preserve the peace and avoid a large force outside of any particular city's (proverbial or literal) gates. Thus, Trazinus also is home to several ungoverned groups existing in the wilderness between cities, including Siada.

The League's capitol city, Vallation, resembles a present-day Washington, DC or London, England: a large seat of government surrounded by embassies, diplomatic missions, hotels, restaurants, and other amenities. It isn't quite a playground for the hyper-elite, but it is certainly run on the backs of thousands of nameless demogrants.

The ISL Military Academy is also housed on Trazinus; it accepts students from across the planet without discrimination, creating a diverse and tight-knit group of well-trained citizens of the ISL who are primed for careers across the galaxy. Many students are the children of middle-class families, some are demogrants whose families hope to raise their status in the ISL, some are hyper-elites whose families understood the value of service, and a very few are from the underclass, outside of the League's protections until the moment they walked up to the doors of the Academy.
