The Borth'aa (bore-thaw) are a humanoid species originating in the Kren system. They are bipedal, with bluish-green reptilian skin; their faces are dominated by large compound eyes which come in a variety of shades, though yellow and orange are most common. Their hands have three fingers and a thumb, which have somewhat large pads at the tips; as such, much Borth'aa technology has either sleek, complex biometric control screens... or large buttons and switches akin to very old technologies from Terra. Borth'aa legs function similarly to those of many Terran animals, with what would appear to be a tiptoe stance; their feet have four large toes which splay outward for better grip and balance.

They are warm-blooded, but their bodies do possess the ability to enter a limited form of torpor; this led to early developments in high-atmosphere travel and a quick ascent into spaceflight.
