Humans are a species in the Vast Galaxy. They are the founding species of the Solaran Union and are heavily represented in the Interstellar League Expeditionary Service.

Physiology

Humans are bipedal mammalians, with (usually) minimally prehensile appendages on their lower limbs and incredibly dexterous appendages on their upper limbs. They are largely hairless, with an intense concentration on the head, and smaller concentrations around endocrine expression areas. Due to in-species variations, their skin is observed in a variety of pigments, body hair coverage varies widely, and humans are seen in sizes ranging from smaller than most Zeta Reticulans to larger than Trilinthians.

Known Facts

Humans are a terrifying and fascinating species. The rest of the Vast Galaxy ranges from "a little unsettled" to "deeply troubled" by some Human behaviors, while other behaviors are almost universally seen as more adorable than the cutest Bïdoofs.

Such strange behaviors include, but are not limited to:

  • Humans routinely do things deleterious to their health recreationally:
    • Humans inflict pain upon their eating and tasting organs with mildly poisonous fruits indigenous to Earth willingly.
    • Humans regularly consume mildly toxic quantities of ethyl alcohol, resulting in varying physical impairments, sleep, and in some extreme cases, death and coma; the responsible consumption of this poison is generally seen as a fun way to spend a Friday night.
    • "Skydiving" is an old human habit of engaging in freefall through the atmosphere, only wearing a double-redundant parachute to slow descent.
  • Humans will pack-bond with nearly anything, from Bïdoofs to starships to tinbots.
  • Humans will engage in affectionate nicknaming of nearly everything in sight, which as led to much confusion.
  • Their planet's name translates to "Dirt"
    • The polar regions are named "Bearlandia" and "Nobearlandia"
