The Terhav VI Incident was a suspected Peacekeeper operation associated with the Horkos cell of peacekeepers.
After a brief vacation time following the Diligence Incident where they pursued personal interests, the Horkos crew reassembled and proceeded immediately towards their next goal.
PRIORITY Exfiltrate and make your way the Terhav system at all due speed. Signals intelligence reports with 87.2% confidence that there will be a terrorist attack within the next two weeks. Primary objectives 1. Prevent casualties 2. Find and neutralize terrorists Secondary objectives 1. Investigate terrorist funding 2. Settle whatever underlying tensions terrorists seek to exploit Terhav is a 7 planet system with main sequence star, part of the Orknos Khanate. Terhav VI was settled by the Khanate 129 years ago. Signetworks Solutions has recently entered a contract to take over a significant portion of Terhav VI's metallurgical processing. Deaddrop on hyperspace relay AQ285 will be collected on the standard 4 day cycle. Good luck.
An additional message with an old but valid Peacekeeper code attached offered the Horkos the opportunity to do a quick pick up/drop off of material on Riga. This message turned out to be from non-official channels, revealed simultaneously through a message from Rio Sousa, the activation of small robotic attack devices, and a remote-controlled attack ship in the nearest hyperspace relay queue to the Horkos' current position. It is believed at this time that the message was spoofed by Codename Singularity, although there are additional theories to the exact identity and galaktopolitikal position of that entity, person, or persons.
Through stunning piloting by Professor, superb shooting with an under-powered asteroid clearance gun by Picasso, and the combined close combat prowess of Quadrant and Tiny, this attack on the Horkos cell was handily thwarted, and the attacking ship disabled for investigation by Peacekeepers higher up the chain; it was handed over to local Hyperspace Relay Guardian Police for dispensation.
The situation on Terhav VI appeared incredibly complex, more so than the usual Orknos Khanate industrial world; intricate labor-management relationships between the Orkan and their Drothi labor forces are unbalanced and breaking, humans under the banner of SignetWorks® Solutions are serving as strike-breakers/scab labor while simultaneously wining and dining with labor leaders.
The Horkos cell established a base of operations planetside after briefly checking in at spaceport bars and shops for viable information; Picasso won several bets on televised sports and the team gained useful knowledge at an Orkan bar; after renting their storage unit, the cell investigated a Drothi bar, before meeting with Ida, a Drothi labor leader who has been extensively wined and dined by SignetWorks.
- Labor dispute - Orkan know the Drothi are going to strike, and are bringing in Humans (SignetWorks Solutions) to break the strike.
- big weeklong Orknos festival, khanate-wide
- currently 3 days out from the beginning of the festival
- lasts 6 days with progressive tournament rounds
- day 4 is the Drothi festival
- the union election is 7 days after the end of the festival (T+16 days)
- the starfighter parts will arrive over the next several days (T+2-4 days)
- an individual named "Farzi" has been the specific buyer for an Orken atmospheric-capable starfighter
- Farzi is a SUPER popular shared cultural legend; a great strategist and tactitcian, obscenely wealthy
- legendary warrior, rose up to lead a large portion of prestellar orknos society
- the fighter is likely hidden in space
- a Drothi terrorist legend exists surrounding a Drothi who firebombed a festival on the back of a Giant Fire Rok
- offworld money has been funneled to "Farzi" to buy the Orken starfighter
- offworld money is also buying Drothi ordnance/munitions
- this is all being transshipped in under false papers
This all seems to add up to:
- there's something rotten in SignetWorks (Which was confirmed by Quadrant's girlfriend.)
- There is an angle on this that the United Empire, nearby across a neutral zone, might be behind the destabilization in a more sinister, large-scale way.
Personnages
- Shakh - Multi-factory boss type
- Rogmesh - Shakh's #2, has followed him through his career
- Ida - a Drothi foreman, contact with Shakh consistently now as a union leader; up for reelection currently
- Tongu - Ida's chief opponent in union elections, pushing a more radical platform
