Peacekeepers of the Vast/Riga

Riga is a reasonably wealthy Trilinthian colony on the third planet in the Re star system. It was the port of origin for the VMS Diligence. While doing Riga is reasonably prosperous, they have tried a number of schemes to stand out economically from other Trilinthian colonies. One of these was a deregulation scheme that allowed universal professional advisors: a combination of banker, accountant, attorney, lobbyist, and venture capitalist. These firms became very powerful, leading to endemic legalized corruption.

NIMBYism is rampant on Riga; most initiatives are astroturfed by major players on the planet.
