Peacekeepers of the Vast/Interstellar League

The Interstellar League, also known as the ISL or simply "the League" is a confederation of 73 recognized polities, bound together by the League Charter. The League only about 300 years old, but the original member polities had relations for another 500 before that. Members of the league are divided into Voting Members, who have full rights but heavy responsibilities, Associate Members, whose interests and votes are held by a sponsoring Voting Member, and Protectorates, which are polities without voting rights or obligations, placed under the direct supervision of the League itself. There are only 7 Voting Members of the League, of which the Solaran Union is the newest, having skipped the Protectorate and Associate Member statuses entirely. The Interstellar League has a powerful standing military, the Interstellar League Expeditionary Service, an intelligence agency, and several powerful executive agencies including the Interstellar League Criminal Investigative Service. The League capital is Trazinus.
