Peacekeepers of the Vast/Uran-Tar

The Uran-Tar are a humanoid species originating from the twin planets of Uran and Taran, both of which orbit the primary star Ranakarnos. The planets do not rotate during their orbit, instead presenting a pair of ecosystems and climates based entirely on total light and total darkness.

Bipedal, with four limbs, the Uran-Tar generally stand about two meters tall, and have thin frames for their size; their heads are slightly larger and more spherical than the average Solaran, as their brains contain three lobes rather than two, and their large, uniformly green eyes have black rectangular pupils. Skin color varies but is generally of a grayish overtone with fadings of other colors.

Uran-Tar technology is comparatively advanced in most areas excepting warfare; a peaceful species for the last thousand years, the Uran-Tar identity is relatively new following millennia of internecine conflict between Uran and Taran citizens over which planet should rule the other. Their internal peace should not be taken as a lack of martial acuity; Uran-Tar officers are frequently involved in the highest levels of Interstellar League Expeditionary Service missions.

The Uran-Tar's self-governing order, which encompasses the Ranakarnos system, is known as The Dual Council; they are members of the Empire of Varris, whose tribute is an annual delivery of various raw materials produced by the Uran-Tar.
